Born from the passion of a great lover of art, the noted New Yorker Barry Friedman, this extraordinary collection of 20th-century Murano glass works was donated in 2017 at The Venetian Heritage – New York, to give it permanently to the Murano glass museum, the perfect place for its enhancement.
In particular the 177 works , including glasses signed by Bianconi, Buzzi, Nason, Poli, Scarpa, Zecchin produced by the most important and historical factories of Murano Barovier and Toso, Seguso, Cenedese – as, Salviati and Venini – extend considerably the twentieth-century collection of the Museum of Murano who, in addition to present its historical collections, aiming increasingly to testify and to give account of the current path taken by the local glasswork.
