Museums by the Moonlight: extraordinary opening of the Doge’s Palace until 11 pm every Friday and Saturday, throughout the summer
As part of the initiatives aimed at creating new opportunities to visit the heritage and collections of the lagoon city, starting from Friday 27 April the evening openings of the Palazzo Ducale are back for the summer period. The program provides for the extension of the opening hours until 11.00 pm on Friday and Saturday (last admission at 22.00).
Successfully launched over the past few years, the proposal is part of the initiatives born on the strong impetus of the Mayor of Venice Luigi Brugnaro, through which it was intended to implement the goal of creating new opportunities to visit the immense artistic heritage of the city, favoring at the same time a broader program, the involvement of young people and of the public that normally can not visit the museums in the usual opening hours.
The opportunity of an evocative ‘nocturnal’ itinerary between the rooms and masterpieces of the ‘symbol’ palace of the Serenissima – which contributes to enrich the already powerful cultural offer of the City – wants to address not only the many guests present in Venice during the summer , but also to all citizens of the historic center and the entire metropolitan area of Venice, stimulating them to rediscover their ‘timeless treasures’.
During the evening openings it is also possible to book guided tours for adults and activities for families, available in various languages (Italian, English, French, German)
